The symbol for the event outside our place

Like earlier years we had converted our garage to a gallery - Gallerie Garage - and almost 100 persons came - almost as many as last year. It was nice when some visitors came by bike, as my main theme this time was biking -- impressions from Tour de France, La Vuelta and Giro d'Italia. We can watch these events on TV and some producers show not only the cyclists, but also the landscapes they sweep past. It's like going with the competitors - a virtual tour in a country you have visited, or want to visit in the future.

We have been to some parts of these countries, so it is easy to imagine being there, even if the pictures are blurry and disappear quickly. The colours and the shapes, the bikers's shirts, and the shadows of them on sunny days, stimulate the imagination.

It is nice to hear so much appreciation for "Tour de Sollentuna", about my art, and our homemade "gallery"!

The fragrance of thyme and lavendar lingered in the air, and with the cusions with lavendar blossoms in the windows, the room got a Mediterranian touch.
The metal chest of drawers, hidden under the cloth with a blue pattern from Provence was now a "corner in a kitchen" with fresh bread (with crust!), fruits, spices and herbs. Some books, registered at BookCrossing, were available, too, if the visitors wanted them. The books about herbs will stay with the one who took them, but perhaps the mystery books are travelling as they are supposed to do.

The water tap was hidden behind a bucket with "false" flowers and above were some motives from earlier shows.

La Vuelta over the Spanish plateau La Mancha         Daily stages end at the goal line "Drop in if you're passing by!" ;-)     I have always been fascinated by Photography, and my first camera was an Agfa Klack, 1956, I still have it. Also I got the catalogue to the brilliant photo exhibition "Family of Man", and later books by famous photographers. I love to study how light brings out colours and shapes. At the Art School I learned and got experience about the black-white darkroom, but the modern digital treatment of photos is sometimes easier, and I need not use any badly smelling chemicals either.
