Art Show - Open House 2009 - in Galleri Garage

Peter Lundblad
The Jubilee Art Show & Open house was opened at the Bergendal Meeting by the musician and singer Peter Lundblad. Then all the artists hurried home to open their studios or working places for visitors, who wanted to see more than the 1-2 examples of one artist.

The orange streamer fluttered in the lovely weather. It was SPRING!

The Art Show
10 year jubilee
2000 - 2009

The Art Show/Open House 2009 during the weekend 25-26 april got a superb weather with sunshine, inviting people to outdoor life in gardens and parks, boatyards and market gardens.

The birches burst into leaf, the cherry trees where white of bloom, suddenly there were Spring flowers everywhere. The sun was so warm that the Garage Gallery this time was cool, no wolly cardigan needed!

Many visitors took a nice walk to the artists, others used their bikes. GPS-directions were commonly used by the car drivers!

The collection exhibition at the Bergendal Meeting was opened with a short program with the singer and musician Peter Lundblad. He has lived in Sollentuna, and his repertoir matched many of the motives on the walls. The sea and seashore ...

Listen to one song here - "Take me to the sea" -- very popular on sing-along-gatherings in Sweden during the Summer!

After the short music program all the artist hurried home to open their studios and working places. We had guided tours upstairs for those who wanted to se my studio on the 3rd floor. The basement and the garage is easier to reach for anyone! ;-)

Welcome now to the "Garage Gallery"!

- Gallerie Garage - opened in its usual place, and we had around 80 visitors, not so many as last years. Many came on bikes, that was nice, and I had made some new paintings from Tour de France.

It is easy to imagine to be there, even if the TV pictures are blurry and disappear quickly. The colours and the shapes, the bikers' shirts, and the shadows of them on their bikes during sunny days, stimulate the imagination. Mountain stages, finish in rain, bikers in a long row after each other on a narrow path, or through a field of sunflowers ...

It is nice to hear so much appreciation for "Tour de Sollentuna", and about my art in our homemade "gallery"!

Thank you for coming! Welcome back 2010 in April
We hope we can make a new Art Show & Open House next year, too

I have always been fascinated by Photography, and my first camera was an Agfa Klack, 1956, I still have it. Also I got the catalogue of the brilliant photo exhibition "Family of Man", and later books by famous photographers. I love to study how light brings out colours and shapes.

At the Art School I learned and got experience about the black-white darkroom, but the modern digital treatment of photos is sometimes easier, and I need not use any badly smelling chemicals either.
