We like Järvafältet, a nature reserve some 15 km north of Stockholm, with nice gravel roads, free from cars. The old farm is the only one in Sollentuna, and it is now the 3rd generation of farmers who treat the land as their fathers did, organic and ecological. Happy animals are grazing in the pastures and bees and butterflies are buzzing in the flowers growing in the edges of the fields with wheat and oats. Cornflower spots in the fields here and there. Our rural roots are awakened by childhood smells and sights.

Pär has been cycling many years here (several thousand kilometers), but has missed the company of Margareta. Her health and balance has hindered her from participating, but now she has got a three wheel electric bike, so now we have been able to cycle together, and she has been able to visit places she hasn’t seen for decades.  Happiness on five wheels 😉 !

Here are a few pictures from our tours. Click on the picture to enlarge, it appears in its own window. If you want to see more, click on this link Järvafält pictures.

Beautiful fragrant roadsides, here with Yellow Chamomile and Tufted Vetch.

Bathtubs are useful for providing water for horses and cows.

There are nice places for bird watchers.

Hayharvest, a little different from how it was done when we were young.

Pause for a little something. Cold green tea and macaroons.

Chickory with a nice background of Ribbed Melilot.

Margareta, always ready with the camera.

Sometimes the road is totally blocked. Luckily, only Pär was out cycling. He had to heave his bike over the fence to the left, and pass the cows on foot.
